He was a primary school dropout who failed his exams, but elson now a role model to the students he teaches at ITE College West.
''We should never give up on ourselves, but always see hope in the future and tell ourselves that we can make it.'' With this mindset, elson decided to turn his life around when he was 14, enrolling in courses to get the qualifications he needed to estabish a better career path for himself.
And he hasn't stopped hitting the books since. Currently pursing a masters at the National University of Singapore with half a year left to graduation, elson hopes that his example will inspires his students to develop a passion for learning.
